Let me clarify some of other people's comments so you get a better idea of this place; - food: great, as a vegan/vegetarian there are lots of options, the bad thing is that it's a bit repetitive every day - snacks: snacks are available but it's just pizza (not that delicious) some fries and you can make your own hamburgers, that's it, this is what I least liked. - bar: people seem to complain about the watered down drinks, but it was fine with me. Great service and delicious cocktails! - room: I stayed on the 2nd floor and had no issues with hot water (some people who stayed on the 3rd floor did have issues though). The room has a nice balcony, is very spacious and the AC did work perfectly. - location: superb! In front of the hotel there's even a supermarket if you need anything, safe area. - staff: amazing and helpful! - beach: amazing, clean, just a few vendors but they're lovely and not pushy at all. Be careful if you swim in the ocean as the waves are pretty dangerous!

All the staff were attentive and friendly without fail - from the front desk to the beach supplies to the waitstaff -- everyone was cheerful and helpful. They were the highlight of the stay, because we always felt welcome. My picky-eater child was always able to find something that he could eat at every meal (what a relief) and the teenagers loved that there were "snack hours" outside of meal times. The food at the "reserve" restaurants was *very* good so definitely recommend you make a reservation if you are there (at the buffet it was basic and a little bland, but that's a buffet). The location in April was very windy and the surf definitely rough but, again, the teenagers loved that -- so much more fun to boogie board than a boring, calm ocean.

The hotel seems to be close to the main street and I thought it would be noisy; I did not expect the quiet peaceful stay we had; the food was amazing, and the STAFF omg - sooo FRIENDLY...so far the nicer in all the hotels we been to in DR. I'm a native from Puerto Plata and have been to many hotels in Puerto Plata and Punta Cana but I have to say that the staff here were the best by far. oh and let me not forget the "quiet party" and the amazing performance by the entertainers, great activities by the pool as well as the Michael Jackson show!

I have visited many resorts and I can say that Viva Tangerine has been my best culinary experience, in terms of variety, quality, service and hygiene. The rooms that were initially assigned to us were a disaster, they are neglected, they had no water, the beds were weak and more. The manager Kelvin was very kind and offered us two other rooms with ocean views and offered us a reservation at one of the a la carte restaurants. all the staff are very helpful and fun. My daughters had fun playing Dominoes, Uno and other board games available.

EVERYTHING WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY CLEAN, MOST STAFF WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. THE BEACH WAS BEAUTIFUL BUT VERY WINDY, PERFECT FOR ALL THE PARA-SAILORS! THAT WAS ALSO FUN TO WATCH. IT WAS A FUN PLACE TO BE AND I AM HAPPY WITH MY STAY THERE.
